Safety 1st Easy Care Swing Tray Booster Seat (6M - 4 Years) Review

Safety 1st Easy Care Swing Tray Booster SeatThis booster was given to me by my mother-in-law for my 13-month old son.I don't care for this one at all.The straps (to hold the seat onto the chair) loosen and they don't stay put.I turned my head to finish preparing his breakfast and he was (still intact in the seat but...) dangling off the front of the chair. The headrest doesn't even stay on seat-it continuously fell off (for the short time we used the seat).I would not recommend this one.

Handysitt Child Chair Review

Handysitt Child ChairWe purchased this chair after seeing so many tacky looking booster chairs in cheap plastic that looked difficult to clean and were very pleased with the design. The problem we do have with it is that there are many chairs where the back is too high for the seat to fit properly so one has to adjust it with a large book on the bottom to raise it.That said, it is still a nice chair but the design could use more improvement.

The First Years Newborn-to-Toddler Reclining Feeding Seat Review

The First Years Newborn-to-Toddler Reclining Feeding SeatWe bought this chair 6 months ago when our son started eating cereal. I do home childcare, so we've seen alot of highchairs & boosters in my 9 years of doing this. This seat is nice because it's small but very roomy. Has few parts that will break. Is made well. Reclines. Has a machine washable seat pad. Dishwasher safe tray with big sides to help retain "windshield wiper" kid hands. I love this seat and can't recommend highly enough. I'd say the only thing missing is a 1-hand release button for the tray. But in my prior experiences, that & the seat pad are the first things that break.

Phil & Teds Wriggle Wrapper - Grey Review

Phil and Teds Wriggle Wrapper - GreyWe got our kiddo sleeping through the night at 4 weeks through a combination of swaddling, white noise, and routine.I'm the kind of person who was REALLY not doing well without getting a good night's sleep, so I had made that a high priority.Well our little Jude decided to learn how to roll over in the middle of the night while we were away on a trip last weekend. He can now roll from his back to his tummy and he's only 3.5 months old.

What he CAN'T do is roll from his tummy to his back or push himself up very well on his tummy. So for all of his naps and nighttime sleeps during the entire trip, he screamed and screamed and finally passed out from exhaustion.Comforting him and trying to rock him to sleep didn't help because he just wanted to be put down on his back (since that's what we'd conditioned him to).And the moment we put him on his back, boom, he rolled over to his tummy and started screaming again with his little face buried in the crib mattress. We were not only concerned because he was so unhappy, but also worried that it might be a SIDS risk since he couldn't really turn his head to the side very well.

He had outgrown the swaddle just a few weeks earlier and we thought we'd reached a milestone with him sleeping happily sacked out on his back. When this rolling started up, NONE of us were getting any rest and that made for very unhappy baby, mama, and daddy!Out of desperation, I decided to try the wriggle wrapper. We had wanted to get it eventually for when he started solid foods, but decided to get it early and give it a try for the sleep feature. It looked a little gimmicky, and I knew he might just hate being strapped down like that, but let me tell you, it brought sanity back to the household!I think if your little one was one who slept well swaddled early on then this might be worth a shot for you.

It was super easy to hook the straps around his crib mattress and just keep it laid out.We just lay him down on top of it already strapped to the mattress, and then it's simply like diapering him.The wraps allow you to make it nice and snug without it being too tight, and I think he feels really cozy in it.He kind of rocked to the left and the right like he was trying to roll over again, looked up at me a little confused, and then laid back, sighed contentedly, and went to sleep!

Now some might worry that this will delay him developmentally with the rolling, I know I did.But I think that if we give him plenty of time to work on rolling and tummy time during his awake time and not rob him of his sleep time for that practice, then he will do just fine.Once he's comfortable rolling around back and forth and also comfortable being on his tummy and able to push up, we'll segue out of the wrapper for napping and move it to its new use as a highchair.

I love that it's soft-sided, machine washable, and folds up so small you could put it in your glove compartment.I'm a mama who has never liked to have baby crap all over my house and car, looking like babies-r-us threw up all over the living room, so I'm very excited about possibly using this in place of a high chair. We have a bar-height dining table with matching chairs, so I think tucking him into this and pulling it right up to the table will work nicely. It's got these great rubber grippies on the back and bottom too, so I imagine when we first use it for eating and he needs a little boost to be high enough to reach the table, we can put something under him like a big dictionary or something because the grippies look like they will give great traction to keep him put.

At the end of the day, this product has worked wonders for one of the features it was designed and was well worth the $50 just for that!I highly highly recommend!

Prince Lionheart BoosterPOD Review

Prince Lionheart BoosterPODI ordered this item because my 23 month old now wants to sit at the table like a big girl. There were no reviews on this item when I ordered it, so I took a risk buying it, and couldn't be happier. It was very simple to "install", and I had it installed, with my daughter sitting in it, in no more than five minutes. It has a smooth surface, which makes it easy to clean, and is very comfortable for her since it is a firm foam cushion.Unlike many of the booster seats similar to this one, it has a safety belt to strap her into, along with straps to secure it around the bottom and back of the chair. The straps snap off easily enough for the parent to take it off the chair, therefore it is portable as well.(If you decide that you don't want the harness for the child, it is easily removed.)It has little rubber "nubbies" on the bottom to keep it from sliding on the chair, so those, combined with the straps, make it a very safe and sturdy alternative to a high chair. It sits the child high enough to reach the table comfortably, but is also low enough that the chair can be pushed under the table when table time is over. I posted a few pictures, and hope that this is helpful to other parents who have to try to swim through the sea of booster seats available nowadays!

Chicco Mamma High Chair - White Checks Review

Chicco Mamma High Chair - White ChecksI was shocked to see a negative review.I've used this highchair with two boys.I haven't had one problem. It moves smoothly, the brakes lock it well, the cushions are easy to wipe clean and even remove when I choose. The tray is simple to remove with one hand and it comes with an extra infant cushion that helped when my guys were just starting to sit up.I used this highchair not only for eating, but as a 'play station' when I was cooking or washing dishes. Both boys have been comfortable and with a little wiping each day, my highchair looks almost new.

Eddie Bauer Wood Highchair - Westlake Review

Eddie Bauer Wood Highchair - WestlakeI LOVE this high chair, but I've seen some negative reviews of it, so I want to emphasize that whether you like it depends on what you need in a high chair. Why I love it: It's very pretty and doesn't look plastic-y, it's sturdy and stable, it seems to be comfortable for my 1-year-old, it was very easy for me to put together, and it has a smaller foot base than most other chairs so it fits better in our small dining room. Why I don't like it: the seat cushion isn't fastened securely at the top of the chair--it just has some little tabs that easily pop out of the chair back. Weird. I have to attach some elastic with a safety pin to hold it on. Also, the buckles of the harness don't latch all that firmly. You sometimes have to really work with them to make sure they won't pop out.

I've heard people complaining that this chair is hard to clean. I don't get this; it does have some little grooves and crevices in the wood, but the cushion comes off easily for cleaning and I don't find the chair any harder to clean than anything else. Also, people complain that the chair doesn't recline and has a thin cushion. For my 1-year-old who's used to sitting in a hard booster seat to eat, the cushion is great; it's not as soft as a car seat, for example, but it doesn't need to be. And why would she need to recline? Finally, some reviewers complain that this chair isn't on wheels. But my baby is currently learning to walk by holding on to things, and this chair is one of many pieces of furniture she hangs on to for stability, so I don't WANT it to move on rollers.

So the point is, you're more likely to dislike this chair if: your baby is younger (under 6-8 months) and not yet a secure sitter, you want lots of cushioning, as well as reclinability for bottle feeding, and you want the chair to roll. Also if you're afraid of having to clean food out of a thin crevice.

You're more likely to love this chair if: you want a chair that looks beautiful, like a piece of furniture, and your baby is older (7-8+ months) and used to sitting up straight to eat.
