I bought this for my 4 1/2 month old daughter for when she sat in her bumbo chair.She was immediately drawn to it and started grasping for it right away.The reason I gave it 3 stars is that while the suction cup sticks to a surface quite well, the ring that attaches the toy to the suction cup doesn't hold.My daughter grabbed it and it came right apart.She almost 6 months now and still loves holding it and playing with it, but it just didn't stay together for us the way it was intended.We now use it more like a rattle or when she's laying on the floor on her play mat.
One other thing to mention is that the toy makes a sound or plays a song that last a few seconds each time she grabs it.I think the sound and songs are pleasant.
