We use this as an alternative to a full size high chair and it works well.Bad points:I like the grippy hippos but find that food gets stuck under the hippo grips and in the creases of the hippos - not a huge deal but it does mean that I have to losen the chair and wash it after each use. Also there is a space between the chair and the table which has become a favorite space for our daughter to "drop" food and practice her favorite word "Oht-oh!".I think that both of these "bad points" could be remedied with a plastic type placemat with perfect placement.
Good points:We have traveled with this chair and although a little bulky (with all the other baby gear you need to carry along) it was a nice way to visit friends and not be juggling an infant on our laps.This chair also allows your baby to sit at the table and therefore interact more during mealtime - a huge bonus for social skills and family time.The compact size of this chair (compared to regular high chairs) fits our rather small dining room, letting us move around it without being squished.
